City Honors "Sons of the Fallen"

Despite difficult weather conditions, capped by huge winds that droned out many voices, a strong patriotic spirit reigned at Lions Park last week as Woodland Park city officials presented awards to approximately 15 boys of "fallen soldiers."

This tribute was part of ceremonies throughout the day to honor a number of boys whose fathers died in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The activities culminated with the showing of the "Sons of the Fallen," a movie that aired in theaters across the country, which focuses on losses that many military families suffer. Part of the movie footage was filmed at a ranch in Divide.
